About Us

West Bengal State Forest Development Agency (WBSFDA) is a registered society under ‘West Bengal Societies Registration Act,1961’ and is under the administrative control of Forest Directorate of West Bengal. It was incorporated in May,2010. At the time of inception, it was conceived as a federation of ‘Forest Development Agencies’ of the state of West Bengal for implementation of ‘National Afforestation Programme’. Subsequently, the Agency has been involved as the implementation agency for ‘Capacity Development for Forest Management & Training of Personnel’ funded under JICA and nodal agency for the implementation of ‘Green India Mission’. Recently, WBSFDA has been tasked to act as the nodal agency for ‘Rastriya Krishi Vikash Yozona (RKVY) and RIDF Schemes funded by NABARD. West Bengal State Forest Development Agency also facilitates the implementation of the directorate schemes like ‘Gitanjali’ and process fee collection of W.B. Wood based Industries.
