Do's

Pick out a trail that is suited best for your physical ability.
Make a check list of everything you need during the trek.
Always carry a permit from the authorized officer
Carry your backpack and wear proper shoes.
Bring only reusable items, be it a carry bag or cutlery
Carry as much dry food as possible
Carry water purifying tablets and mosquito repellents
Bring only eco-friendly toiletries with no harmful chemicals
Wear sober coloured clothes that camouflages with the environment
Keep helpline numbers (police/forest/medical) ready on your mobile
Always carry a first aid kit and essential medicines.
Carry a raincoat, umbrella, battery torch.
Carry a stick / lathi while trekking
Pick up garbage along the trail and segregate at campsites
Take back your inorganic waste especially sanitary napkins. They don’t have an exit otherwise.
Always move in a group
While moving in a group always do a head count at hourly interval
Respect local culture and norms

Dont's

Choose your snacks wisely. Don’t get packaged food in packaged plastic
Don’t consume carelessly.
Don’t Trek or Hike alone
Don’t pollute water / water source
Don’t waste food. Use water instead of tissues, cloth instead of wet wipes.
Don’t create noise or use speakers during the trek. It disturbs other trekkers, birds and animals.
Don’t wear dazzling and bright coloured clothes.
Don’t use earphones / Mobile phones while trekking, it may distract you and invite an accident.
Don’t light fire enroute except at locations designated for the purpose.
Don’t smoke / drink alcohol and do not litter
Don’t destroy any vegetation
Don’t poach (kill/capture/injure) any wild fauna
Don’t deviate from the designated route
Don’t undertake graffiti on any natural or mam made property
Don’t carry any firearms
Don’t trek before sunrise and after sunset
